An adult learner is a student who meets one or more of the following criteria:

24 years of age or older
-
a veteran of the armed forces
-
returning to school after four or more years of employment, homemaking, or other activity
-
assuming multiple roles such as parent, spouse/partner, employee and student
Penn State Erie has an array of options for the adult learner pursuing higher education. Whether you are taking just one course to enhance your work skills or entering a degree program, there is staff available to assist you.
There are many resources available to adult learners at Penn State Behrend. From over 30 undergraduate majors to select from, certificate programs and graduate programs to many academic and student support services, Penn State Behrend has something for you.
There are several different enrollment options for adult learners. We want to give the adult learner every opportunity to pursue higher education and will work with you to find the enrollment option best suited to your situation. Penn State Behrend is located near the intersection of Interstates 79, 86, and 90 in suburban Erie, Pennsylvania. The college was established in 1948 following Mary Behrend's donation of her 400-acre Glenhill Farm estate to Penn State. Penn State Behrend facilities include fifty buildings on 725 acres. Modern facilities include an engineering complex, library, academic building, eight residence halls, student apartments, athletics and recreation center, observatory, chapel and carillon, and Knowledge Park at Penn State Erie.

Monday, Tuesday: 9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday, Thursday: 9:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Friday: 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
