Penn State Behrend Business and Engineering Partnership

The Business & Engineering Partnership was conceived more than 20 years ago by Behrend’s Council of Fellows and the leadserhip of Penn State Behrend in recognition of the needs to support industry and economic development.. The formal partnership was initially established in December 2000, as a result of a Learning Excellence Grant from the General Electric Corporation.

The partnership has evolved into numerous collaborative efforts in the teaching, research, service, and outreach arenas.

Of special note is the Interdisciplinary Business with Engineering Studies (IBE) degree, approved on July 11, 2008 by the Board of Trustees of Penn State University at the annual meeting held in Erie in conjunction with the Behrend College 60th anniversary.
