SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING

Mechanical Engineering Technology
Capstone Design Projects, B.S. Degree

All senior students conduct team-oriented capstone design projects involving an actual design or manufacturing problem sponsored by regional industry. The student works along with industrial representatives in formulating and implementing solutions to the problem.

The student thus gains actual applied experience and industrial exposure prior to graduation. A few of the industrial sponsors are listed below.

  • AMSCO

  • Autoclave Engineers, Inc.

  • Electric Materials, Inc.

  • Erie Press Systems

  • Eriez Magnetics

  • General Electric Co.

  • Huber Fan

  • Lord Corp.

  • McConway/Torley

  • Truck-lite, Inc.

  • Zurn Industries

Regional and National Recognition

Several of the capstone projects have allowed students to gain regional and national recognition by receiving awards through oral and technical poster presentations, and by national technical paper publications through the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), other professional societies or technical conferences.

Please refer to the Richard J. Fasenmyer Engineering Design Conference home page for details regarding MET capstone projects.
