High School Requirements for Admission 
To a Baccalaureate Degree Program

English: Four units, including one unit each of composition and literature.

Social Studies/Art/Humanities/Foreign Language: Five units, in any combination of these areas are required. Two units of the same foreign language are recommended for all programs and required for some majors. Two units of the same foreign language will be required for all baccalaureate students beginning in 2001.

Science: Three units, required for all majors. It is recommended that students interested in Engineering or Engineering Technology complete one unit of physics as part of the science requirement.

Mathematics: Three units.

Required by the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Division of Undergraduate Studies: three units of mathematics, selected from algebra, trigonometry, and geometry.

Required by the School of Science, School of Business, and the School of Engineering and Engineering Technology: three units of mathematics, including one and-one-half units of algebra, one unit of plane geometry, and one-half unit of trigonometry.
