Penn State Behrend Baseball Participates in Habitat for Humanity Build

On Saturday, October 18, the Behrend Lions baseball program participated in another Habitat for Humanity build.

The baseball program provided two groups of players and coaches to continue work on a home in Erie.

The group combined to donate a full staff covering an eight hour day working on both the inside and exterior of the home.

"It was a great day for our program," said Head Coach Paul Benim.  "We were able to help a good organization that supports families in need."

The Behrend Lions athletic staff and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee have also worked in the past for Habitat for Humanity as a community service project.

Habitat for Humanity builds and rehabilitates houses and neighborhoods by providing simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with families in need. Reaching out from Christian roots across denominational, faith, economic and racial lines, Habitat works in partnership with prospective and existing homeowners, volunteers, donors, community organizations and all those who can help reach these goals.
