Baseballs Hot Start Earns Regional Ranking in ABCA Poll
The
Behrend baseball team got off to a quick start rolling to an 8-1 mark in
Florida during Spring Training. The American Baseball Coaches
Association/Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division III Poll released on March 26,
2007 has the blue and white earning votes in the National Top 30 Poll.
"It is obviously nice to be recognized for what our guys have accomplished," said head coach Paul Benim. "However, it is just a poll. We want to be ranked at the conclusion of the season, which means our group did achieve something special." Behrend is ranked fourth in the Mid-Atlantic Region behind Kean (6-2), New Jersey (8-4), and Johns Hopkins (10-2).
Baseball is next in action on Monday, March 26 when they open up AMCC play with a twinbill at Frostburg. Then Behrend hosts Medaille in another league double-header on Wednesday, March 28 at 1:00 p.m.
