Penn State Behrend Cross Country Sweeps Bobcat Invitational

The Penn State Behrend Men's and Women's cross country team both took home the first place spot as they competed at the Pitt-Greensburg Bobcat Invitational. 

The Men's team placed first out of eight teams finishing with 31 points.  Leading the blue and white was Andy Iams (Harrison City/Penn Trafford) who finished in first place overall.  He finished in 27:14 completing the course one minute before the next runner.  This is the fourth race in a row that Iams has led the blue and white.

The Behrend Lions women's team scored 37 points in route the first place title.  They beat out nine other teams to take the Bobcat Invitational.  The Behrend Lions were led by Jenna Fatica (Erie/Villa Maria).  Fatica finished in 24:39 taking third.  Behind her was Mallory Souleret (Pittsburgh/Baldwin) and Emily Berry (Reno/Rocky Grove) who finished fourth and fifth respectively. 

The blue and white will next be in action at the Oberlin Regional Rumble on October 18, 2008 beginning at 10:30 a.m.  They will then take part in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships on November 1, 2008 at Penn State Altoona.  The women's race beginnings at 1:00 p.m. followed by the men's at 2:00 p.m.
