Men's Golf Hosts Annual Behrend Invitational at Peak n' Peak
The Penn State Behrend men's golf team hosted the annual Behrend
Invitational at Peak n' Peak ski and golf resort on Thursday, April
24. A total of nine schools participated in the event from
both the Division III and Division II levels.
Medaille College finished first among Division III schools with a 305 score. Shooting a 311, Penn State Altoona landed the second spot with Penn State Behrend's blue team coming in a close third with a 313. In Division II play, Mercyhurst was the winner, shooting an overall 300 on the day. A 306 was good enough for Gannon's second place, while Slippery Rock fell in third with a score of 307.
Top finishers for the Behrend Lions included Pat Petraglia (Pittsburgh/Chartiers Valley) who finished with a 75 and Joe Nelson (Warren/Warren) who shot a 78 for the blue and white.
The Behrend Lions will conclude the
2008 season when they travel to Washington & Jefferson to compete in its
annual invitational. Play will begin on Sunday, April 27 and conclude
on Monday, April 28.
