Penn State Behrend Escapes With 1-0 Win in
HLM Consolation Game
The
Behrend men's soccer team slipped past Geneseo, 1-0 in the
consolation game of the Herb Lauffer Memorial Soccer Tournament on
Sunday afternoon on the Behrend Fields.
With the win Behrend evens its mark at 1-1, while Geneseo remains winless at 0-2 on the season.
At the 16:41 mark of the first half, Behrend made a sideline throw-in that bounced off a Geneseo player and worked its way into the net for the only goal of the game.
Geneseo outshot the blue and white 15-7, but Behrend goalkeeper Dustin Walker (Apollo/Kiski Area) played an excellent game in between the pipes. The junior registered twelve saves on the day.
The Herb Lauffer Memorial Soccer Tournament
championship game featured a 2-1 victory for Baldwin-Wallace (2-0)
over Utica (1-1).
