Kaschauer Named to NCAA All-Tournament Team
Behrend
second-baseman Nikki Kaschauer (South Park/South Park) was named to the NCAA
Northeast Region All-Tournament Team held at Ithaca College. Kaschauer
was the bright spot for Behrend at the plate, going 2-for-2 against the #2
team in the country, the Ithaca College Bombers. Kaschauer smacked a
double to left-center that would lead to Behrend's only score of the
tournament.
Behrend closes out the season at
34-10, the highest win total in school history, after a season that led to
their first NCAA tournament bid in 20 years. Behrend saw five of its
players earn All-Conference recognition, including Julie Koman (Mckees
Rocks/Montour) who was named both AMCC Newcomer and Player of the Year.
Head Coach Stacy Pondo earned her second straight Coach of the Year award.
