Kaschauer Named to NCAA Softball Regional All-Tournament Team
Penn State Behrend's Nikki Kaschauer (South Park/South Park) was named to
the 2008 NCAA Softball Regional All-Tournament Team on Monday, May 12.
Kaschauer was picked as an at-large selection for the squad.
Kaschauer went 3-for-6 in two games at the 2008 NCAA Regional Tournament
hosted by Ithaca College. On May 8 against Ramapo in the first game,
the junior second baseman went 1-for-3 and scored a run for the blue and
white. In the second game of the tournament on May 9 against
Rochester, Kaschauer went 2-for-3 with a double. Behrend lost its
first two games in the double-elimination regional and the squad's season
came to an end with a final record of 33-14.
This is the second time Kaschauer has been named to a NCAA Regional
All-Tournament Team. In 2006, the Behrend Lions also captured the AMCC
Championship and competed in a NCAA regional
at Ithaca College. Kaschauer, a freshman at the time, made the all-tournament team as the second
baseman.
