Penn State Behrend's Kovach Named ECAC Diver of the Week after NCAA Championship Qualifying Score

State Behrend’s Krystal Kovach (Pittsburgh/Chartiers
Valley) was named the ECAC Women’s Diver of the Week for the week of January
21. The standout Behrend Lions freshman was also the AMCC conference's
diver of the week, for the third time this season.
Kovach
had a big weekend for the blue and white. Her top performance came on
Saturday, when she produced an NCAA Championships qualifying score.
She is the first swimmer or diver in Behrend program history to do so.
Kovach captured both the one and three meter boards
(228.75 and 176.45) on Friday night against Chatham, qualifying her for the ECAC
Championships. Kovach immediately returned to top form on Saturday
when she was able to win both diving competitions against Penn State
Altoona and Frostburg State.
Kovach and the rest of the Behrend Lions will be back in the pool January 26 at Washington and Jefferson at 1:00 p.m.
