Penn State Behrend
senior middle hitter Sheila Ogden (Grove City/Grove City) was named the AMCC
Volleyball Player of the Week on October 12. Ogden surpassed 1,000
kills for her career during a week in which the blue and white posted a 3-1
mark.
Ogden surpassed the 1,000 kills milestone with six winners on Wednesday,
October 7 in a key AMCC win over the Pitt-Bradford Panthers. She
then posted 38 more kills over three matches at the SUNY Corltand
Invitational over the weekend. Ogden now has 1,042 kills for her
career, ranking fourth all-time in the Behrend record books.
Head coach Phil Pisano said, "Sheila has been putting the ball away
consistently for the past four seasons. She knows how to score points
and has been tremendously reliable and a big factor in our success these
past four years."
Behrend is currently 14-6 on the season and hits the road for a match at
AMCC opponent D'Youville on October 14 before returning to the Junker Center
to host conference opponent Mt. Aloysius on Saturday.
