Men's Water Polo Defeats Salem International 15-6 and Loses Tough Battle to Gannon 11-10.

Behrend men's water polo team played a set of matches on Saturday, September 29 at the Behrend Pool.  In the morning the men defeated Salem International 15-8 and in the evening lost a tough one to Ganon College 11-10. 

In the first game, the Behrend Lions came out poised and ready for action.  The men scored 10 un-answered goals in the first periods.  Salem came back in the middle of period three to score 3 goals against the blue and white.  The men came right back scoring anther 5 goals before the end of the game.  The Behrend Lions defeated the Tigers 15-6.  Center Jon Bacon (Glendale, CA/Crespi Carmelite) had a stellar game recording four goals in game one. 

In game two, the blue and white took on local rivals Gannon Golden Knights.  The match was a tough battle the whole game through.  Neither team led by more than a goal at any point of the game.  The final result came down in the last minute of play.  With the score tied 10-10, Gannon got one past the blue and white and won the game with only seconds left.  Andre Pranckevicius (Miami, FL/Miami Beach) was the Behrend's top scorer of the game with three goals.  Teammates Matt Pluta (Erie/Cathedral Prep) and Bacon both recorded two goals.  The men are now 3-13 on the year.

The men will be back in the Junker pool tomorrow Sunday, September 30 for another their last two matches of the weekend.  First they will once again face Salem International at 11:30 a.m. and be back in the pool at 3:30 p.m. to take on Mercyhurst College.
