Krumpe Earns AMCC Honors for Outstanding Play

Penn State Behrend's sophomore forward Amber Krumpe (Mercyhurst Prep/Erie) has been named this week's Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Week.

Krumpe has been instrumental in launching the Behrend Lions to a 2-0 start in the AMCC and a pair of wins last week. The team's leading scorer and rebounder, Krumpe earned 14 points, 6 boards, 2 assists and 3 steals versus Penn State Altoona, followed by a 21 point, 6 rebound and 3 steal performance against Fredonia. She currently averages 14.2 ppg and 6.0 rpg while shooting 53% from the field.

"Amber works exceptionally hard at practice," said head coach Roz Fornari. "She is a very athletic player and is a great competitior." The Behrend Lions head into break with a 5-4 mark and open 2003 with road games at CWR on January 7 and at Hiram on January 9.
