Q & A with Head Women's Basketball Coach
Roz Fornari
What
is your general view for how the season has started so far?
As a team we are playing a bit inconsistent. Mainly because of our youth and
perhaps lack of game experience. As the season progresses I expect us to not
only improve individually but also as a team. We have made a lot of
adjustments this year to our personnel and it has been a learning curve for
everyone. I genuinely like my team and feel we have very good chemistry so
it is really a matter of consistency now.
How do you feel you stack up with the rest of the conference?
Really only time will tell. We have 12 more conference games and are
currently 3-3. I think our conference is difficult and has a lot of balance
and truthfully anyone can beat anyone within it. So, I would say we just
need to take it one game at a time and keep getting better.
Which players have performed to their abilities so
far?
I believe our seniors have done a great job leading our team. I am enjoying
watching them in that role. I also feel like each player is starting to
understand their role and performing better within that role, which is
allowing us to compete at a higher level as a team.
What is the biggest challenge for your team in the
upcoming schedule?
To stay consistent. I don't believe it is the schedule we play as much as it
is how we play it. If we respond day in and day out consistently we should
do well. We are young and early on we didn't do that as well. Right now we
seem to understand what it takes and we need to bring that on a daily basis.
How far do you see your team going the rest of the
season and into the postseason?
Our focus will remain day to day and to not look beyond the moment. We do
have goals and have our sights set on conference play-offs but we want to
make sure we take things day to day and get better.
