Phillips Becomes All-Time Women's Scorer at Behrend

In Wednesday night's 56-52 victory over Pitt-Greensburg, Erin Phillips (Erie/McDowell) scored 21 points to become the women's all-time scoring leader by surpassing Michelle Madison ('86-90) who previously held the record of 1,409.  Phillips made two free-throws with seven seconds left to clinch the win for the Behrend Lions.  Phillips currently has 1,415 points and is 62 points away from becoming the all-time career points leader in Behrend history by surpassing Rick Demski ('87-91) with 1,466.

"She is a great floor leader," said head coach Roz Fornari.  "There is no one that works harder than Erin - no one."  Phillips, a four-year starter, is the women's career leader in free throws made with 451, field-goal percentage with 52.9%, and free-throw percentage with 79%.  Phillips also 2nd in career field goals made with 472 and 6th in career rebounds with 590.

Next up for the Behrend Lions is a game on January 26 at Penn State Altoona at 1:00 p.m.  Earlier this season, the Cougars dropped the Behrend Lions 78-54 in the Junker Center.
