02-11-01 Constanzo Tops 1,000 Point Mark Penn State Behrend's senior guard Kate
Costanzo (Manorville /Kittanning) hit a 15-foot jumper with 0:45
seconds left in the College Arena at Grove City to eclipse the 1,000
point plateau. Costanzo entered the contest with 985 total
points. She is the seventh women's player to surpass 1,000
points. She trails former teammate Jen O'Lare (1997-01) 1,043,
Missy Stasenko (1981-85) 1,045, Mindy Stasenko (1981-85) 1,049. Lisa
Butch (1985-89) 1,062, Michele Madison (1986-90) 1,409, and Erin
Phillips (1998-present) with 1,526. Costanzo is also 2nd in career three-pointers
made with 128, three-point field goal percentage with 35.9%, and is
7th in field goals made with 355. On the season, Costanzo has
started in all 24 games and averages 13.4 ppg and 5.1 rpg.
In Monday night's game at Grove City,
Costanzo had a game-high 16 points and 6 rebounds. Previously,
in the 24 point win over La Roche, Costanzo hit 7 x 16 from the floor
and 7 x 8 from the charity-stripe for game-highs 22 points and 11
