Creative Writer’s Speaker Series: Poet Malena Mörling

Poet Malena Mörling will read from her works at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, as part of the college's Creative Writer’s Speaker Series.

Mörling’s reading will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, in the college’s Larry and Kathryn Smith Chapel. A reception for her will precede the reading at 4:30 in the chapel’s first-floor living room; both events are free and open to the public.

Mörling is an assistant professor of creative writing at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington. She is the author of Astoria and Ocean Avenue, which was selected by Philip Levine for the New Issues Poetry Prize. She also has translated works by the Swedish poet Tomas Tranströmer, a selection of which appears in the collection For the Living and the Dead.

Mörling’s work also has appeared in the New York Times Book Review, New Republic, Ploughshares, New England Review, and Five Points.
