Calpulli Mexican Dance Company celebrates the rich, regional dance traditions of Mexico’s diverse cultural history interpreted through its unique artistic vision. The fresh, vital repertoire honors Mexico’s past and immigrant life in the United States.

Calpulli is a word of the Nahuatl language referring to the groups or clans categorized by trade, which contributed to the whole of the Aztec civilization. This young, energetic group is a calpulli of artists.  The company produces performances comprised of Mexican dance, music, and theatre that showcase Mexico’s rich cultural heritage and history through dance.

Performances include narration and audience participation, thus blending the visual arts, theatre, and story-telling with traditional dance.
